Drawing Attention to Children’s Health Care
Artwork by Kids Collected Nationwide Unveiled in Washington, D.C. during Inaugural Week

What:

America’s Future Starts with Healthy Children Art Exhibit: Collected from 24 states, nearly 400 students submitted original, hand-drawn art work to promote health care for all kids. 61 original drawings and paintings will be on display.

Why:

Across the country, the American public wants children to have health care.

This art exhibit is a creative expression by children urging Administration and Congress to act swiftly. Currently, 1 out of 9 children in the U.S. cannot see a doctor because they do not have health insurance.

Where/When:

Washington, D.C. during Inauguration Week

  • Viewing from Friday, January 23 from 9 – 5 p.m.at Rayburn House Office Building, 1st Floor Foyer
  • Unveiling on Friday, January 23rd at 9 a.m.
  • Viewing from Monday, January 26 to January 28 all day at Union Station, West Hall
  • Unveiling on Monday, January 26th at 10 a.m.

Who:

Four of the featured artists will be in Washington, D.C. for the unveilings and are available for interviews. Please contact Sookyung Oh to set up an interview.

The “America’s Future Starts with Healthy Children Art Exhibit” is organized by the Health Rights Organizing Project (HROP) SCHIP subcommittee, and led by the Korean Resource Center, National Korean American Service & Education Consortium, and the Northwest Federation of Community Organizations. HROP is a national coalition of community organizations across the country working to achieve quality health care for all.

Visuals: Artwork drawn by children from grades pre-K to 12 will be on display.
